I worked with the Hudson School District on multiple web projects, specifically the Alvirne Wrestling Team website and the Hudson Federation of Teachers. Together, we created solutions that streamlined data management and improved user accessibility. My work included building data-entry systems and maintaining district and school websites that remain active and publicly accessible today.
Key Contributions:
System Development: Designed and implemented backend and frontend systems using PHP 7, MySQL, JavaScript, and CSS. These systems simplified data management and improved resource accessibility for both the school district and the teachers' federation.
Website Creation: Developed and maintained user-friendly, informative websites for the district and individual schools, utilizing modern web technologies to create engaging and accessible resources for students, parents, and staff.
Challenges Overcome:
Legacy Browser Support: Addressed compatibility issues stemming from the district’s use of outdated browsers. By leveraging tools like BrowserStack and experimenting with JavaScript preprocessors, I ensured systems functioned smoothly across a wide range of environments.
Intuitive Design: Focused on creating interfaces that were simplistic, impactful and accessible for all types of devices and use-cases.
The projects developed for the Hudson School District was a meaningful opportunity to apply my skills to an impactful cause, and I’m proud of the systems and websites that supported the students and teachers who leveraged these products. This experience showcased my ability to develop practical solutions while navigating complex challenges, leaving a lasting impact on the organization and its stakeholders.
